海洋生物生态与进化研究组

  中国科学院深海科学与工程研究所“海洋生物生态与进化研究组”受“知识创新工程前沿领域”等项目资助,于2013年12月成立,2015年获批三亚市海洋底栖生物多样性与资源保护重点实验室,主要开展海洋生物(特别是深海生物)的种类与分布、生物多样性、资源保护与利用、以及生物对极端环境的适应机制等方面的研究。 

  研究方向:

  深海生物的种类、分布、及资源保护

  深度超过6000米的深海区域称为海斗深渊(Hadal trench),占全球海域面积约1-2%,在海洋垂直梯度上占45%,已有研究表明那里栖息着稀有的生物种类。由于深海探测技术手段的限制,人类对在这个黑暗世界中所生存的生物知之甚少。我们将利用深海技术装备,开展深渊生物的种类分布、生物多样性、资源保护、及生态进化等方面的研究。通过传统形态学分类手段与分子生物技术(如DNA条形码)相结合,对所收集的相关物种进行鉴别; 对深海生物进行分子系统学研究,探讨深海特有物种的起源及进化机制;分析不同水层的深海生物种群的遗传结构,研究生物的迁移规律(基因流),推测深渊生物的进化历史。 

  生物对深海极端环境的适应机制

  1977年,美国科学家在加拉帕格斯裂谷发现了第一个深海热液生态系统,及大量的生物种群,如管状蠕虫、贝、虾等,被誉为20世纪生物学和地球科学领域最重大的发现之一。生物在同一个热液区呈规律性的梯度分布:在近喷口处的高温区域(60~110℃),主要分布着嗜热菌和古菌;在稍远处温度为20~45℃的区域,则生活着嗜热的庞贝虫(Alvinella pompejana),它的耐温范围可高达80°C;而在距热液喷口较远的,温度为 2~15℃的区域,生物种类和数量则明显增多,常见的种类有管状蠕虫、贝类、虾类、蟹类等。这些生物是如何适应深海极端环境(高压、高温等)的?我们将开展不同生境下的比较生物学研究,采取原位观测以及室内观测(实验室高压培养)等手段,对深海和浅海生物在形态、生理、繁殖方式等方面进行比较,同时比较其在基因水平上的差异,研究生物对深海极端环境的适应机制,并探讨如何利用这些深海生物资源。
